I confess that I am still reeling from the news of Grant Jeffrey’s passing. But at the same time, I have supreme confidence that Grant is much happier about his 
situation than any of us are.
Everybody — and every living thing — dies eventually. We were not created to die, but the sentence of death was passed on all living things when the first sin was committed by our first parents, Adam and Eve.
The Scriptures have much to say on the subject, but the subject is not exactly the sort of thing people like to dwell on, and consequently, we don’t.
For most people, death signifies the end of life, and God has built aversion to death into the genetic makeup of all living things as a kind of self-preservation mechanism for the survival of the species.
Walk through the woods, and if you see any small animals about, they are usually fleeing your presence. They don’t know your intentions, but they do fear death, so their default position is that you represent a threat to life and are to be avoided at all costs...more…

We are presently at a time when we are constantly seeing Israel’s border enemies ever more emboldened to stir up strife and lash out against Israel.
As Israel sees it self ever alone in this big bad evil world DO NOT expect them to just idly sit by and watch their nation be wiped off the map of planet earth. With Iran ever breathing threats at Israel and Israel’s border enemies doing like wise the tentisons are high in the Middle East and in the world.
We as Bible believers know without a shadow of a doubt that Almighty God has GREAT things for Israel but until they believe they will find that they are all alone in Satan’s big bad Israel hating world (Zech. 12:2-3, 13:8-9, 14:2-3)!

Book Review: ‘The Sacred Journey’ by Charles Foster

This book is part of The Ancient Practices Series, published by Thomas Nelson and edited by Phyllis Tickle. The premise is that pilgrimage is essential to spiritual formation and Foster is seeking to provide answers to three questions:
1.How did anyone ever think that a journey, such as a journey made by a barn swallow, had any religious significance?
2.Was he right?
3.If he was, what should we do with the insight (p. xiii)?
The author attempts to support the view that pilgrims and nomads are superior to city people and civilization in numerous ways:
1.Pilgrimage is what is meant by when Jesus said, “Follow Me” (pp. 25, 212).
2.Distorting biblical concepts, such as claiming Abel was a tramp while Cain was the founder of civilization (p. 37, 42), and Sodom is what happens when man stops wandering (p. 56).
3.Terah, Abram and Lot were hippies (p. 57).
4.God is a camper and a hippie (pp. 49, 150).
5.Relics are important (pp. 111-113).
6.Mythological and ridiculous stories happened on the “sacred journeys” (pp. 163-164; 172-173).
7.Jesus was a vagrant tramp (p. xv).
Foster demonstrates that Christian pilgrimage is virtually identical to that of Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists (pp. 6, 18, 70-71, 99, 102, 104, 130-131, 148, 198, 200), and that the idea of reincarnation is superior to the Christian view of one life which ends in death and judgment (p. 161). ..more…
Discernment Detractors Calling Good Evil

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

In the first book of Kings, God comes to Solomon in a dream and tells him he can ask for anything that he wants:
In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
—1 Kings 3:5
Solomon asks for discernment: He wants to be able to discern the difference between what is good and bad—between good and evil. He answers God:
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
—1 Kings 3:9
God is pleased with Solomon’s request, noting that he asked solely for discernment rather than selfish things for himself:
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Israel’s long known open secret is its formidable nuclear arsenal. Less is known about its chemical and biological weapons (CBW) capability. More on that below.
In 1986, Dimona nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu revealed documents showing what many long suspected. Israel had been secretly developing, producing and stockpiling nuclear weapons for years.
Experts called his information genuine. They revealed sophisticated technology able to amass a formidable nuclear arsenal. Today it’s more potent than ever.
In his 1991 book titled “The Samson Option: Israel’s Nuclear Arsenal and America Foreign Policy,” Seymour Hersh discussed its strategy to launch massive nuclear counterattacks in response to serious enough threats.
In his 1997 book titled “Open Secrets: Israeli Nuclear and Foreign Policies,” Israel Shahak said Israel won’t hesitate using nuclear or other weapons to advance its “hegemony over the entire Middle East.”...more…
