In the Scriptures, there are three specific trees that are used as euphemisms for Israel; the vine, the fig tree and the olive. “And He spake to them a parable;
Behold the fig tree, and all the trees.” (Luke 21:30)
In Scripture, the vine is the symbol of Israel’s spiritual privileges; the fig tree symbolizes Israel’s national privileges and the olive tree symbolizes religious privileges.
“Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. (Psalms 80:8-10)

Iran might be able to inflict substantial disruption on oil exports if it tries to carry out its threat to block the Strait of Hormuz, analysts say, but talk of a blockade which would be counter-productive is almost certainly a bluster.
The European Union agreed this week to introduce a ban on Iranian oil imports to the EU. Iran’s response was unequivocal.
The strait “would definitely be closed if the sale of Iranian oil is violated in any way,” a member of Iran’s influential national security committee in parliament, Mohammad Ismail Kowsari, said on Monday.

A conservative advocacy group is growing more concerned over the amount of skin shown during network prime-time television.
The Parents Television Council is worried about the troubling trend it has been documenting even before releasing its report “The Alarming Family Hour” more than four years ago. Melissa Henson is director of communications and public education for PTC.
“What we have seen so far this season is a fairly noticeable increase in the frequency of depictions of nudity on prime-time broadcast television — and that’s something that used to be unheard of not that long ago,” she tells OneNewsNow. “And even though it started creeping into 10:00 p.m. shows, you never would have seen that sort of content, certainly during the family hour.
